I wanted to share with you all this cute little pattern I created to make your very own crochet cotton face pads. I use a lot of cotton pads to wash my face and take make up off my face and hands. But it dawned on me recently how these little pads are having a bad impact on the environment and filling up our land fills.
So I thought I would create my own crochet reusable ones. They are kinder on the environment and are still as soft and gentle on the face. And they can be easily washed either in the washing machine or in a bowl of hot soapy water.
DK Cotton Yarn (I used Sirdar Baby Speckle)
4mm Crochet Hook
Round 1: Chain 5. Join with a slip stitch.
Round 2: Chain 3. 9 trembles into the centre of the ring.
Round 3: Chain 3. 1 tremble into the same stitch, two trembles into the remaining stitches. Slip stitch the last tremble into the first tremble.
Round 4: Chain 3. 1 tremble into the same stitch, *1 tremble into the next stitch, and 2 trembles into the next stitch* repeat the step in between the * for the remaining stitches. Slip stitch the last tremble into the first tremble.
Round 5: In the first stitch slip stitch, double crochet and half tremble into the same stitch, in the next stitch half tremble, double crochet and slip stitch in to same stitch. Repeat until you reach the end of the round. Slip stitch the last stitch into the first stitch and fasten off.
Cut off the yarn and sew in all the loose ends with a wool/tapestry needle. Your crochet cotton pad is now complete.
I would love to see your creations you create with this pattern! Please feel free to share them with me over social media with the #pinkamethystblog
